Doing your best, but feel awful doing it?
Today, I want to introduce you to my friend, Carol.
Carol had been struggling with blood sugar dysregulation for years but didn’t know it. Like many people, she had always heard that blood sugar wasn’t something to worry about unless you were pre-diabetic or diabetic.
But that’s a myth.
Blood sugar dysregulation is actually a precursor to many diseases. Most people don’t realize their blood sugar is off until they’re facing bigger health problems.
In fact, many people live with chronic blood sugar issues well before any diagnosis appears. But, what does blood sugar dysregulation look like in everyday life?
Let’s walk through Carol’s day to find out.
A Morning of Chaos
Carol’s day starts with her alarm blaring—a sound she’s snoozed four times already. When she finally stumbles out of bed, she’s scrambling to get her kids ready, make breakfast, and be on time for her 9 a.m. meeting. But she’s running behind again, so she skips breakfast and drinks her coffee as she rushes to get everyone out the door, grabbing a donut as she leaves.
By the time she gets to work, she feels frazzled and just wants to crawl back into bed. Needing an energy boost, she grabs another coffee and a quick Snickers from the candy bowl. Mid-meeting, her stomach growls, and she’s frustrated and embarrassed. She just ate, so why is she so hungry?
The Afternoon Slump
After her meeting, Carol takes an early lunch—a sandwich with soda that she eats quickly at her desk. The afternoon drags, and she finds herself reaching for Skittles in her bottom drawer, hoping the sugar will help her finish her tasks. But she only feels more drained as the day goes on.
As she heads out to pick up her kids, Carol feels shaky and tired. The traffic doesn’t help, and by the time she’s home, she’s completely worn out. Without the energy to cook, she pops in a frozen pizza for dinner and has a glass of wine to unwind.
An Exhausting Night
When her kids are finally in bed at 9 p.m., Carol realizes she hasn’t eaten much herself, so she pours a bowl of cereal and watches TV. Later, she drifts to sleep, only to wake up at 3 a.m. Unable to fall back asleep for a couple of hours, she feels like she just shut her eyes when the alarm goes off again.
It’s another day of feeling drained and going through the motions.
Finding Help
The next morning, Carol opens her social media feed and sees a post from her friend, a Nutritional Health Coach, listing symptoms she recognizes instantly:
Fatigue and low energy
Cravings for sweets
Irritability
Waking up throughout the night
Shakiness
Constant hunger
Carol is intrigued.
For the first time, she feels understood and begins to realize that her symptoms might not be normal.
Ready to Stop Feeling Like Carol?
Carol did her best each day—juggling her job, her kids, and her social life. She was a rockstar mom, friend, employee, and person.
But underneath, she was exhausted, anxious, and frustrated by her persistent symptoms, feeling as though her body was working against her.
The truth?
Carol’s symptoms were connected to blood sugar dysregulation. But she did not know that until she started working with her friend that was a nutritional health coach.
If you’re reading this and see yourself in Carol’s story, know that you don’t have to live with these symptoms.
There are ways to get to the root cause, regain control over your health, and feel great in your body.
You don’t have to feel like Carol any longer.
