I wasn’t always besties with my body…

After a while, I started thinking something was not right and began going down a path of helpless DIY, which led to more elimination diets, eating salads nonstop, and even going vegan for one month. But nothing really worked and left me with more confusion, overwhelm, and with a complete fear of food. Not a good place to be, friend. Fast forward a few years, I made a move to a new state where I bought a new home. Some of my symptoms had improved, but most were still hanging around. After about 4 months living in my new home, I noticed new symptoms. Chronic fatigue that kept me from being able to take my dog on hikes, hair loss so bad that I had bald spots, and eczema that constantly reminded me of its presence by itching at the most inconvenient times. Luckily, I made the decision to work with a functional medicine practitioner and learned that I had an Autoimmune Disease caused by mold poisoning. Remember that house I bought? Yeah it was literally killing me. Welcome to my personal horror story.

Around this same time, I was studying to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and truly began to heal myself. I was finally learning about the needs of my own body and the food MY body needed. Overtime, I noticed symptoms going away for the first time! No more Deafcon 1 reactions when my husband left his dirty sock on the floor, no more chest pain, and I was finally able to go on hikes with my dog again! I was also becoming best friends with my body and my health no longer felt confusing, but simple, attainable, and refreshing.

And the same is possible for you. You don’t have to be at odds with your body anymore. You don’t deserve to not feel good in your own skin. And friend, you do not have to stop doing the things you love because of the symptoms that won’t go away even with all your DIY tricks.

If you need more convincing, here is my know how information.

…actually I would say I treated my body more like an acquaintance. Someone you say hi to and are friendly with, but do not really know all that well. I did try to help my body be “healthy” by doing all the things that society tells us to do- exercise more, eat smaller portions, and eliminate large amounts of foods. But, instead of my body getting healthier, I noticed symptoms. Acne that started in my college years and got worse in my 20’s. Mood swings that caused Deafcon 1 reactions when my husband left his dirty laundry on the ground…again (it really shouldn’t be that big of a deal). And chest pain so bad that I went to the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack.
